The Association of Property Owners of Romania (AGPI) proudly announces its official membership in the European Association of Short-Term Rental and Hospitality Property Owners, becoming Romania’s official representative within this pan-European organization.
Through this affiliation, AGPI joins the most influential national associations across Europe, working together to shape fair and sustainable policies for the hospitality and short-term rental industry.
A milestone for Romania and its property owners
AGPI’s enrollment marks Romania’s entry into a regulated and recognized European framework, where experts collaborate on developing unified standards and solutions for the evolving hospitality market.
AGPI has committed to an annual membership fee of €3,000 (with a 50% reduction in the first year) to secure Romania’s representation at the European decision-making table on matters concerning short-term rentals and hospitality services.
While Romania’s market is still developing, significant challenges are already emerging — including tax increases, new regulatory barriers, and mounting pressure from the traditional hotel sector.
Many Western European countries have already faced and overcome similar issues, proving that collaboration and informed policymaking at the European level are key to sustainable growth.
Benefits of joining the European network
Through this strategic membership, AGPI gains access to:
Early insights into upcoming EU regulations and directives that may affect local markets;
Active participation in European policy consultations and working groups focused on short-term rental legislation;
Support for lobbying and advocacy initiatives at both national and EU levels to ensure fair treatment for property owners;
A powerful international network for knowledge sharing, best practices, and cooperative projects;
Comprehensive research and data access, helping AGPI align local initiatives with European trends and standards.
A united European voice
The hospitality industry is undergoing rapid transformation, and European-level decisions have a direct influence on Romanian regulations.
By taking an active role within this European structure, AGPI ensures that Romanian property owners are represented, informed, and protected in all future legislative developments.
Traditional hotel associations already benefit from strong representation and influence.
To maintain balance, short-term rental property owners must also unite, collaborate, and make their voices heard.
Working alongside European organizations will allow AGPI to advocate effectively for fair and transparent policies in Romania and across the EU.
